The first thing to try when Final Cut Pro is acting buggy, is non-responsive or just isn't performing like it normally does, the first and often only needed solution is:

1. Save your project.

2. Quit Final Cut Pro.

3. Re-launch Final Cut Pro (there is no need to re-start the computer, just the program).

If Final Cut Pro is non-responsive and won't quit (like you are getting the spinning beachball icon):

1. Hold down the keys Option/Command/Escape to bring up the Force Quit window.

2. Select Final Cut Pro Pro from the list and press the Force Quit button.

3. Re-launch Final Cut Pro.

Occasionally, you will want to re-start the computer. This is especially true if the computer seems slow or sluggish. Among other things, this frees up RAM that may not be available to Final Cut Pro for various reasons.
