This is a consumer version of H.264 as implemented by a number of manufacturers for consumer HD camera recording. This version of H.264 uses temporal compression (inter-frame) in a similar Long-GOP structure as MPEG-2. This format uses 4:2:0 color sampling and 8-bit depth. This format can be recorded to a number of different mediums- DVDs, SD cards and HDDs.
