Final Cut Pro – Color Correction & Effects

This three-day course delivers comprehensive training in real-world color correction and effects techniques, including using motion and filter effects, animating effects with keyframing, chroma keying, compositing, speed effects and color correction. There is instructor demonstration followed by hands-on exercises with ample time for experimentation.

Topics include:

• Reviewing Motion effects basics.

• Working with video filters effects.

• Managing and saving favorite effects and copying effects attributes.

• Keyframing (animating effects over time) in the Viewer, Timeline, working with Bezier handles and tips including slipping and sliding effects.

• Anchor point effects for customizing how a motion effect animates over time.

• Basic and advanced Nesting to create complex, multi-layered effects.

• Constant and variable speed effects and creating polished looking freeze frames.

• Importing and working with Photoshop graphics and an overview of how to create graphics for video.

• Other effects and editing techniques include Superimpose and Extend edit, Composite Modes for blending images together, Mattes and Travel Mattes, and an intro to chroma keying.

• Color correction techniques for re-balancing contrast and color balance, correcting for bad white balance, scene to scene color matching with many tips to maximize efficiency, working with video scopes and ensuring your program is broadcast safe.

• Getting familiar with various settings for creating high quality renders of your effects.
