Final Cut Pro – Advanced Editing Techniques

This three-day course offers invaluable techniques for becoming a Final Cut Pro 6 "power user". Combining technical and aesthetic information, there is demonstration followed by  ample time for hands-on exercises to master dialog editing techniques, various trimming methods, getting the most out of Final Cut's audio mixing tools, media and clip management and more.

Topics include:

• Dialog scene editing techniques.

• Getting the most out of Matchframe for locating, adding and replacing material.

• Replace edit to simplify the task of replacing Timeline clips in sync to Timeline elements.

• Trim Window techniques for creating match cuts, refining timing and trimming on the fly.

• Multi-track trimming to keep multiple tracks in sync while editing and avoiding clip collisions.

• Multi-camera editing to playback and edit multiple camera angles.

• Nesting clips and sequences for various editorial purposes and tips for un-Nesting.

• Other editing techniques include keyboard and numeric trimming, creating effective split edits, using dupe detection, Gang Sync, merging/syncing clips, trimming under transitions and using Extend edit with single and multiple tracks, fixing screen direction errors, and creating timecode window burns of a project.

• Audio techniques include working with real time audio mixing, outputting multi-channel audio and more.
