When working with P2 cards for use with Final Cut Pro, one way of transferring the video data recorded to the cards is to connect a device called a P2 Store (Model AJ-PCS060) to a Mac. You can insert a P2 card in a P2 Store, which will act like a card reader. A P2 Store can also record the contents of P2 cards into its internal hard drive.

You can transfer the data from a P2 card inserted in the P2 Store or from the internal P2 Store hard drive using the exact same method.

Connecting The P2 Store And Mounting A Card

1. Connect P2 Store to computer with a USB cable.

2. Turn on P2 Store with power button on front of unit.

3. Wait for green light above power button in previous picture to stop flashing.

4. Insert P2 card.

5. Optionally, you can copy the contents of the P2 Store internal hard drive to the computer. In this case, you would not need to mount a card, just simply attach the P2 Store and turn it on.

The P2 card (or contents of internal hard drive) will mount on the Desktop of the Mac as a generic disk icon with the words "NO NAME".

You are now ready to transfer P2 data to the Mac.

Un-mounting A Card And Disconnecting P2 Store

1. Eject mounted P2 card from the Desktop by dragging it to the Trash or right-clicking on it and choosing "Eject".

2. Next use the eject button on P2 Store to eject the card from the P2 Store.

The button needs to be pressed three times. 1st time- button depresses. 2nd time- button extends outward. 3rd time- button ejects card.

3. Turn off P2 Store. Hold down Power button for at least 2-3 seconds.

4. Disconnect USB cable.
